Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Lam (p. 22) mentioned 'Pierre transferred these two species to his genus Planchonella, adding two MS. names which have never been validly published, P. densiflora (Hill.) Pierre (= Sideroxylon spathulatum Hill. var. densiflorum Hill.) and P. remyi' (sic). On p. 28, Lam proposed the new combination P. sandwicensis f. densiflora (Hillebr.) H.J. Lam. It is evident that he did not accept 'P. densiflora (Hillebr.) Pierre'
