In the index, novelties are listed without any author citation. [In his review on the vol. 4 of Kunth's Enum. Pl., A. Gray (Amer. J. Sci. 47(1): 200-201. 1844) made remarks on Melanthaceae and Uvularia sp., and his remarks imply that he is nothing to do with these treatments.] Because of the uncertainty, Kunth is cited for the authorship.
