Remarks
Although this name might be considered to be based on Salix ×undulata Ehrh., Beitr. Naturk. 6: 101. 1790, as suggested by Merrill (1949: 106), Rafinesque did not refer to Ehrhart. Thus, the existence of S. undulata J. Forbes, Salict. Woburn 25. 1829, nom. illeg., precludes treating Rafinesque's action as being an indirect reference to Ehrhart (Lim et al., 2013)
