Remarks
Linnaeus published 2 works almost simultaneously (dt. 15-31 Oct 1767): Mant. Pl. [prima] and Syst. Nat. ed. 12, vol. 2. For G. asiatica, Linnaeus (Syst. Nat.) cited Microcos lateriflora L. (1753) as a synonym, and therefore, the name G. asiatica was superfl. & illegitimate when published. In contrast, for G. asiatica, the text in Mant. Pl. shows Mr. Braad’s collection from Surat, India and does not have any reference to an earlier name
