Clarke (Fl. Brit. Ind. 4: 503. 1884) accepted A. macrobotrys Nees and cited A. Wightiana, T. Anders. in Thwaites Enum. 232 (1860), and in Journ. Linn. Soc. ix. 502 (1867), not of Nees. as a synonym. Anderson (1860) did not treat A. wightiana, but listed A. macrobotrys Nees as an accepted name; in 1867, he cited A. macrobotrys as a synonym of A. wightiana Nees
