Remarks
Although the protologues of M. pumila and of Pyrus malus var. paradisiaca L. (Sp. Pl. 1: 479. 1753) show a reference to C. Bauhin (Pinax 433. 1623), the General Committee of the ICN concluded that these 2 names are not homotypic (vide John Wiersema)
