Durand remarked: Perhaps D. micropetala, Hook. ..., but scarcely anything more than another form of D. alpina. Because of Durand's expression of doubt (Perhaps D. micropetala, Hook. ...), his D. alpina var. micropetala is not treated as a new combination based on D. micropetala.
