Remarks
Kunze (in Linnaea 9: 57-60. 1834) stated the occurrence of sterile and fertile pinnae in several Lomaria species; on p. 57, he listed L. longifolia Kaulf. (Enum. Filic. 153. 1824) as an accepted name and mentioned “Frondem vidi dimidio inferiori sterilem, supcriori fructiferam”, which is construed as a diagnosis. Presl published ‘O. Kunzeana (Lomaria longifolia [sensu] Kunze nec Kaulf.)’ and thus referred to the preceding diagnosis, which validates the name O. kunzeana
