Remarks
In the 2000 St. Louis Code and before, Piperaceae C.Agardh was treated as a conserved name, and subsequently Piperaceae C.Agardh was found to be a later isonym. The Code does not provide for conservation of a later isonym against an earlier isonym (see Melbourne Code Art. 14, Note 1).
