Name is given by Mueller without a description or reference to a basionym in Notes sur la Vegetation indigene et introduite de l'Australie [Exposition Intercoloniale, 1866] (1866) 41 and in Intercolonial Exhibition 1866-7 - Essay 5: Australian Vegetation (1867) 31 (seen at NY). Index Kewensis refers to F.Mueller in Fragm. 5: 180, but the name is given there only as a synonym of Geissois benthamii F.Muell. Index Kewensis Suppl. 16 (1981) 303 corrects the entry to Bailey in Fl. Queensland 2 (1900) 541 which is later than the above.
