Remarks
Reveal and Jarvis (in Taxon 58: 981. 2009) treated A. tabernaemontana as a new name for Tabernaemontana amsonia L. (1762). However, Daniel Ward (in Phytologia 92(3): 334-344. 2010) rejected their assertion and treated A. tabernaemontana as the name of a new species. As per the Shenzhen Code Art. 6.13(a), for a nom. nov., it is mandatory that the replaced synonym is cited. In this case, Walter did not cite any synonym. Therefore, A. tabernaemontana is treated here as the name of a new species
