Remarks
Cabrera published “Eupatorium sect. Gyptis (Cassini) Cabrera nov. sect.” and cited “Gyptis Cassini, Dict. Sci. Nat. 16: 10. 1820” as the basionym. However, the cited basionym Gyptis, based on Eupatorium subgen. Gyptis Cass. (1818), itself is a name at a new rank. Since Cabrera did not provide a direct reference to the basionym, his intended new sectional name was not validly published.
