See Fosberg, Micronesica 2 (Jun. 1966) 150 who states that Abroma Jacq., Hort. Bot. Vindob. 3 (1776) 3, t.1 is a nomen nudum and includes it as a synonym of Ambroma L.f. Index Nominum Genericorum gives the Jacquin reference. Lin et al. (Taxon 68(2): 391-393, 2019) state that the 1776 name is validly published, as a diagnosis for the genus was provided after the species description.
