Remarks
Besides his 1753 publication, Linnaeus (in Syst. Nat. ed. 10. 964. 1759; Sp. Pl. ed. 2. 1: 380. 1762) consistently used the specific epithet Copallinum as a noun in apposition, which retains its gender and termination irrespective of the gender of the generic name (see Vienna Code Art. 23.5).
