[Gandhi 3 Aug 2000] as Lycopersicum lycopersicum. Farw. [Rep. (Annual) Commiss. Parks Boulevard Detroit 11. 1983) also made this comb. nov. (Lycopersicon lycopersicum); prior to 1983 (Berlin) Congress, for a few decades, tomato was known by this name.
