G. Don did not treat the name A. acuminatus. Clarke (in J.D. Hooker, Fl. Brit. Ind. 4(pt. 11): 359. 1884) cited Aeschynanthus acuminata G.Don Gen. Syst. iv. 657 as a syonym of Chirita acuminata (an error)
